Kaizer Chiefs have returned to South African soil after a productive pre-season camp in Turkey.
The Soweto giants spent 21 days in Istanbul, engaging in rigorous training sessions and competitive friendly matches to lay the foundation for the upcoming season.
The entire Amakhosi contingent, including the newly appointed coaching staff led by Tunisian tactician Nasreddine Nabi, his assistants Khalil Ben Yussef and Fernando Da Cruz, as well as the club’s management, headed by Kaizer Motaung Jr and Jessica Motuang, have touched down in Johannesburg.
The club’s football manager, Bobby Motaung, revealed that the primary objective of the Turkish camp was to foster a strong team spirit and an unwavering focus on football.
The Glamour Boys participated in four practice matches during their stay to test their mettle and refine their tactics.
With the pre-season phase drawing to a close, the spotlight now shifts to squad reinforcement.
Motaung has confirmed that Kaizer Chiefs will unveil their new signings on Sunday, 28 July, ahead of the Toyota Cup clash against Young Africans in Bloemfontein.
While the club remains tight-lipped about the identities of the incoming players, reliable sources indicate that a goalkeeper, left-back, and left-central defender have already inked deals.
Furthermore, Chiefs are actively pursuing another central defender and three attacking reinforcements to bolster their squad.
As the Amakhosi faithful eagerly anticipate the unveiling of the new signings, the club’s return to South Africa marks the commencement of a new chapter under the guidance of Nabi and his coaching team.
The upcoming 2024/25 season promises to be an exciting one for Kaizer Chiefs as they aim to reclaim their position at the pinnacle of South African football.
