Former Kaizer Chiefs star Junior Khanye has reignited calls for the club to appoint Pitso Mosimane as their new manager, asserting that the decorated coach is the only one capable of restoring the Glamour Boys to their former glory.
In an impassioned plea, Khanye stated that Mosimane, currently a free agent after leaving Saudi Arabian club Abha, possesses the tactical acumen and leadership qualities necessary to turn around the struggling Soweto giants.
He emphasized that Mosimane should be given full control over the technical team and be allowed to bring in his own trusted staff, while also incorporating local expertise like Dan Malesela and Farouk Khan.
“It’s simple, my choice would be Pitso Mosimane,” Khanye declared. He must be allowed to bring his own technical team and say who he wants to work with. Pitso is a free agent now, and he’s one of the best coaches. He’s the one who can fix everything at Kaizer Chiefs.”
Khanye’s endorsement comes amidst widespread speculation surrounding the vacant managerial position at Naturena, with several names being linked to the job.
However, Khanye believes that Mosimane, with his proven track record of success both domestically and on the continent, is the ideal candidate to instil a winning mentality and rebuild the team from the ground up.
“Chiefs have got money, he’s the only coach who can fix Chiefs now,” Khanye added. “I’d love to see Pitso Mosimane assisted by Dan Malesela, and he must bring his technical team as well. Then make Farouk Khan the Head of the Academy.”
Mosimane’s potential arrival at Kaizer Chiefs would undoubtedly be a major coup for the club, and could signal a new era of success for the Amakhosi faithful.
However, it remains to be seen whether the club’s hierarchy will heed Khanye’s advice and make a move for the esteemed coach.
While other contenders like AS FAR coach Nasreddine Nabi have been mentioned as favourites, Khanye’s unwavering belief in Mosimane’s ability to transform the club’s fortunes has added a new dimension to the ongoing managerial saga at Kaizer Chiefs.
Only time will tell if Khanye’s vision for the club will become a reality.
