Kaizer Chiefs’ pre-season preparations have been disrupted by a serious injury to midfielder Mduduzi Mdantsane.
The 20-year-old suffered a broken jaw in a recent car accident and will be sidelined for up to three months following surgery.
Mdantsane is one of four key players missing from the Chiefs’ pre-season training camp in Turkey. Midfielder George Matlou is out until October after knee surgery, while Tebogo Potsane and Dillan Solomons recover from groin and shoulder surgeries respectively.
These absences are a major setback for new head coach Nasreddine Nabi, who is aiming to build a strong squad for the upcoming season.
The “Glamour Boys” will participate in the Toyota Cup later this month, where they will face Nabi’s former club Young Africans.
Kaizer Chiefs fans will be hoping for a speedy recovery for Mdantsane and the other injured players as the club seeks to improve on their disappointing 2023/24 campaign.
