Kaizer Chiefs have secured the signing of Rwandan international goalkeeper Fiacre Ntwari from TS Galaxy.
The 24-year-old has penned a three-year deal with the option to extend and is set to join the Amakhosi pre-season camp in Turkey after his visa application is finalized.
Ntwari impressed in the DSTV Premiership last season despite joining TS Galaxy mid-campaign. His agility, reflexes, and ball-playing skills caught the eye of Kaizer Chiefs’ new goalkeeper coach, Ilyes Mzoughi, who reportedly tracked him for nearly a year.
This signing is seen as a response to the potential departure of veteran Itumeleng Khune. Ntwari’s arrival adds competition to the goalkeeping department, currently occupied by Brandon Petersen, Bruce Bvuma, and Bontle Molefe.
At a young age, Ntwari represents a long-term investment for the club. Capped by Rwanda since 17, he’ll be looking to make his mark when he joins his new teammates in Turkey next week.
Ntwari becomes Kaizer Chiefs’ second signing this transfer window, following the arrival of defender Bongani Sam. The Amakhosi faithful will be hoping these additions can propel the team towards a better showing after a disappointing 10th-place finish last season.
