South African defender Siyabonga Ngezana continued his impressive start in Europe by helping FCSB secure the Romanian Super Cup.
Ngezana, who joined the club from Kaizer Chiefs at the beginning of the 2023/24 season, played a key role in their journey to the title, solidifying the defense and earning a place in the league’s Team of the Season.
The Super Cup final saw FCSB face off against Corvinul Hunedoara. While Ngezana began the match on the bench, he was brought on in the 74th minute with the score at 2-0. His fresh legs and defensive stability helped FCSB comfortably hold onto their lead and secure a clean sheet victory.
This win marks Ngezana’s second trophy with FCSB, having already clinched the Romanian SuperLiga title just a few months ago.
Ngezana’s success story is a welcome sight for South African football fans. His performances have not only helped FCSB achieve domestic dominance but have also put him on the radar of bigger European clubs.
With the UEFA Champions League qualifiers just around the corner, Ngezana will have the opportunity to showcase his talents on an even grander stage.
