Kaizer Chiefs have finally lifted the lid on their coaching search, revealing Tunisian tactician Nasreddine Nabi as their man to lead them back to glory.
But why Nabi over a sea of other candidates? The answer lies in a two-pronged approach: African experience and a deep understanding of the Amakhosi identity.
According to Chiefs’ Marketing Director, Jessica Motaung, Nabi’s extensive knowledge of African football was a major factor.
Having coached at clubs like FAR Rabat in Morocco and Young Africans in Tanzania, Nabi brings a proven track record of success on the continent.
This experience is crucial as Chiefs navigate the unique challenges and playing styles present in South African and broader African football.
“We looked at a number of things, we looked for the right coach who has coached on the continent, who understands the Chiefs brand, who understands where we want to go. A coach who has got hunger and passion for success, passion for the Chiefs brand and a whole lot more,” said Kaizer Chiefs Marketing Director.
The appointment is a clear vote of confidence from the Motaung family leadership, with Jessica Motaung praising the work of Sporting Director Kaizer Motaung Jr. and Football Manager Bobby Motaung in securing Nabi.
With a coach who understands both the African game and the Amakhosi spirit at the helm, Chiefs fans can look forward to a new era under Nasreddine Nabi.
