Despite securing the Cufa Cup trophy with a penalty shootout victory over Marumo Gallants, Kaizer Chiefs head coach Nasreddine Nabi expressed his dissatisfaction with his team’s performance.
Nabi highlighted two key areas that need improvement: a lack of a winning mentality and poor finishing.
Despite creating numerous scoring opportunities throughout the match, Chiefs struggled to convert them.
“It was a very intense game, and winning the Cufa Cup is a great achievement,” Nabi said.
“However, we created many chances, and that’s a big problem. We need to develop a winning mentality. There are no friendly games. Even in training, I want to win. If we lose, it’s a problem.”
The Tunisian coach also criticized his team’s inconsistency during the match, stating that they lost momentum and allowed Gallants to gain control.
“We need to maintain our focus throughout the game,” Nabi added.
“We can’t afford to let the other team take over. It’s unacceptable.”
As Chiefs prepare to face SuperSport United in the Carling Knockout Cup this weekend, Nabi will be hoping that his team can improve their performance and secure a victory in their first official cup competition.
