Kaizer Chiefs’ new coach, Nasreddine Nabi, faces a tall order according to his former boss, Engineer Hersi Said, president of Young Africans (Yanga) in Tanzania.
Hersi emphasizes the crucial role of support from both the club and fans for Nabi’s success.
“He’s a coach that can deliver results,” Hersi said, highlighting Nabi’s technical skills. “But he needs a lot of support as well.”
Hersi points to his own experience with Nabi at Yanga, where they provided “much more support” including top signings like Fiston Mayele and Stephen Aziz Ki. This backing, Hersi argues, was instrumental in Nabi’s success, leading Yanga to back-to-back league titles.
Chiefs fans are yearning to end their trophy drought, and Nabi is seen as the potential answer.
However, Hersi warns that success hinges on a united front. “This is exactly what I was mentioning,” he stressed, “the support. It’s very important for him to get that support.”
Hersi’s message is clear, for Nabi to thrive, Kaizer Chiefs need to provide full backing, not just through words, but also through actions like acquiring quality players.
Only with a unified approach can Chiefs hope to break their trophy drought and return to their former glory.
